I've read over it again, it doesnt answer my secound question, it never mentions anything much about how much skill it takes. I may be wrong, I'll look over it again.

You expect him to be able to not only predict the future, but make an accurate assessment of everyone's skills in the future? They will be able to if they know how. They won't have ever fully used the programs, so they'll obviously have to learn to use them.

You did not understand my question, I mean't from what they've learned so far do you have to have extensive knowledge of the 360. I never expected him to tell me the future, or know everyones skill.... I never said that either.

Why would you need to know about the console to modify maps?
If you're referring to knowledge regarding modding your console, then your question goes to Xbox-Scene, not here. Again, you would be expecting us to predict the future to know if the modification to the console would be difficult to perform.

I'm not asking how to mod my 360, how could you not know how hard something is? For example how hard is it to find a needle in a hay stack, pretty hard, right? I was just asking a simple question, because this is a Q/A. Were advanced modifications not done to their 360s, or am I being very arrogant and stupid right now?

You phrased your question wrong.

Tural sees it as, and you phrased it as, "Do I need to know a lot about the console to modify the maps?

When your real question is, "Do I need to know a lot about the console to play modded maps, like the few people have done?"

Yes, modifications were done to their 360.

wow thats really funny i wanted to do the same thing for h2v. To make it black and flaming is possible as we can tell with flaming armor perm and the rgb value swapping (i think thats a page or two back). But as for changing the head to a skull... (shader and collison swap mb?) (<-on dev kit)

Hey, that may be possible, currently. I'll have to talk to Detox.

Lol, I thought we weren't taking any requests...
Anyway, For that .sefc I assume that it was triggered by the splazer, but does it wear off?
(if it does, you could in theory make a uber blur gun!)

Didn't you have to allow the XEX to run unsigned maps, or something of that nature? Like, in the dev kit. I remember it being talked about.

They modified the XEX. No changes were made to the devkit itself.

I seriously don't see that happening, hell I can't even open the hlmt tag on my part, but I think that might require chunk cloning and I don't think anyone has gotten around to dooing that...

Well you guys know where amour perms are so it might be a simple model switch

I have been looking into chunkcloning. The map will load, but the chunks I add at the end of the meta table aren't loaded into memory, so there must be a value I am missing, I haven't looked in a week or two though, So I guess I can give it a shot later today... After I finish remote poking, and fix that crashing problem.

Also leo, We don't even need to clone chunks really... You can just find some blank space not used and overwrite that...

I have been doing research into how the map files are done, could I have someone to look over it and check it for me before I post? or is that not really needed?
