Haha, there's not much family time at my house. My sisters are always in their room on the computer/playing games, my parents are always in their room, and I'm usually in the basement. The most time we spend together is on vacations.

Then Larry Clark Films my not be a good one for the "Matured" angle. The Rest of them are. Especially Apocalypse Now! and the Hitchcock films.

I hate movie aspect ratios... I've got a widescreen laptop a widescreen tv and the widescreen ipod touch...None of which are able to display a movie properly. Half of the screen is taken up by black. You buy a big tv only for only half of i to be used if you have any interest in movies.

argh! Couldn't they lower it or something for retail movies?

Why buy Fullscreen movies for a Widescreen TV? We have Fullscreen TV's in our house, but we own mostly Widescreen movies.

It's all about watching Bullitt and Vanishing Point with my parents. My dad's the bigger Bullitt fan, and we agree that Vanishing Point was just Kowalski going HURR AMPHETAMINES.

Gas is no issue, One of our friend's uncles owns a gas station down the street so he can fill up there for real cheap.

If only that's how gas prices worked. Gas stations only make a few cents on the gallon, meaning he wouldn't be able to get "real cheap" gas without taking a profit loss, because he doesn't set those prices, and gas stations really don't get shit from gas pumps, and their revenue primarily comes from in-store purchases. Unless he personally jacks up the price a significant amount (And thus losing money from less sales, because his prices would be significantly higher than his competition) from the current gas prices in the area, he'd just be retarded for getting "real cheap" gas. If you're referring to like, 5 cents cheaper, that doesn't constitute a significant amount. He'd only be saving like, less than a dollar per fill up.

These movies are widescreen. DVD releases are super duper cadjaluper widescreen. The standard is 2.35:1 for the majority of my dvd's. Its not like I have a choice of 4:3, 16:9, 2.35:1...Its that or nothing.

Perhaps I'm doing it wrong?

You're not doing it wrong. It's just the way some movies are filmed. Cinema screens aren't 16:9, in fact they don't even have fixed aspect ratios. I don't know about over there, but here after the commercials they close the curtains in front of the screen, or just turn the lights off so you can't see and they change the size of the screen to match the movie.

Some DVD's are perfect 16:9, but unfortunately a lot aren't.

Darn right you do.

I've been trying to get a lot of practice on the drums, but my idiot brother won't leave his drumset at one place for more than thirty seconds. He usually takes them to church, and then tries to take them back to church but ends up just disassembling them and leaving them in the van. Also, I wanted him to teach me, but he's going to college pretty soon...

Well, before we get all analytical, (kinda late, but I'll continue.) Basically, we roll up in the car, park it at the pump. She goes inside and says hi, and pays a 20 to the clerk, and we get a full tank of gas. To me, that seems considerably cheaper than the 60-80 it would take to fill it up. (Variable because I don't know the size of the tank.)

Huge loss for the owner, who has to pay for that gas and only gets to mark it up maybe 10c/gallon. He's paying that out of his pocket each time.

PC was due for a reformat. So I did it, but instead of reinstalling XP afterwards, I upgraded to Vista. And holy shit did it ever suck ass. Everything is badly organized and IPX protocol for playing games on a local network is not supported (amongst many other annoying things). So I formatted again, and put XP once more. What a hassle.

Vista blows.

I spend the night at my girlfriends house. We stay up till 4:00 AM watching movies (when her mom has to get up for work), and I decide to go to bed (in the living room). I leave her room, and her mom hears it and thought we stayed up all night having sex.
Awkward moment :|
