Changing Master Chief's Head

I recall seeing someone else make master chiefs head a flaming skull. I would like to incorporate this into my first mod. Any help would be much appreciated.

1. null the MC's head shader on the model.
2. attach the fire effect to a [bloc].
3. change the [hlmt] of the [bloc] to the oddball's
4. attach your fiery oddball to the MC [bipd] tag.
5. set the marker as "head" in the Meta Editor.

Well, I'm actually very new to doing my own mods, so if you wouldn't mind, go you please tell me in lamest terms what to do? I would really appreciate it.

You cant just null the shaders from the head. You have to null the lod completely and it will vanish.

I found turk's, how do I take it out of his map, and put it into the one I want to use?

ask him for his permission then use entity or insolence preferrably entity tho

Well, he posted it and said it was free to use, so I assume there's no problem, and of course if I release it he will get his dues. But I still don't know how to actually put it in the map, you didn't really say.

keep in mind that I've never done this, but I would imagine it would be as simple as extracting the oddball and injecting it for MC's head. I have no idea how to make it flaming, however.
