But that's impossible to say if you've ever modded any Halo game...kornman00 wrote:don't say I never did anything for you ;p...turk645 wrote:let me know when its up cause im curous now too.

Edit:
I just watched it and I didn't get an error.

Is it possible to Hex edit a saved film so that you can have every single person's PoV in one film?
If you don't understand that, this is what i mean. Normally you can only see in first person if the spartan you are watching in the film is you. I want to know if it is possible to edit a saved film so that it has the first person point of view for every single person in the played game. For example, my friend and i are playing is there a way so that i can see his PoV without recording the game a second time from his televison.
-thanks

i think the main reason that bungie didnt put FP for the other players is because of how jumpy it would look.

Veegie was telling me something like this the other day I think its for LAN games... Maybe he can explain it.i cut u up wrote:Is it possible to Hex edit a saved film so that you can have every single person's PoV in one film?

you weren't suppose to. if you read the previous posts, I was talking about posting a client's view (which was clean of any types of mods) of a modded host. The client is just acting how the host says it should act, just how a film records the complications of lag to the letter, so this acts just the same.LuxuriousMeat wrote: But that's impossible to say if you've ever modded any Halo game...

The AR was made to shoot rockets, thus the shaky screen effect, which the client still sees (which I'm assuming is encoded in some way in damage effect simulation event).
The pistola was made to shoot ze elephant, which if you attack it's weak point, you'll inflick massive damage fyi.
Due to this, at the very end I shoot a pistol and IIRC tried to flip the elephant that came out (I was host, detox was client) and it's force shot me across the map.
Have you been making a list of why is server side and what is client side? If so what all (important) things are server side so far

Yea, I actually re watched it and I noticed the shaky screen and him dieing from 1 shot. I must have read your post wrong, I thought you said all people get an error when watching it, including the people with non modded maps.kornman00 wrote:you weren't suppose to. if you read the previous posts, I was talking about posting a client's view (which was clean of any types of mods) of a modded host. Ironically, Anthony and I figured that out, specifically, two days ago.i cut u up wrote:Is it possible to Hex edit a saved film so that you can have every single person's PoV in one film?

That's really awesome! I would have thought the film just doesn't contain the first-person data for anyone else simply to cut down on file size...Veegie wrote:Ironically, Anthony and I figured that out, specifically, two days ago.i cut u up wrote:Is it possible to Hex edit a saved film so that you can have every single person's PoV in one film?

Depends on how long the game was, how many players were present (and\or leaving\joining), and how much action those players were generating throughout that game.
Really, it should be no other way (maximum host authority) in games, but compromises have to be met sometimes. Not to say the host can't always be trusted, but bungie trys to counter that by not explicitly saying whos host...but there are means of determining none the less...
I had a really, really, really long post made up, but I decided to not use it because some parts of it I was iffy on how valid it was in describing what goes on in the simulation updates, because it's never been something I've cared to reverse engineer in as much depth as alot of other systems in the engine. Let's just say that the only client side data being generated are player inputs and what the client can deduce (ie, the pistol shoots a pistol bullet projectile) from the host's simulation updates.turk645 wrote:Have you been making a list of why is server side and what is client side? VG was talking about living ragdolls in the screenshot forums. Is he making the ragdolls similar to the yelo method or is he doing it with my method? If it is my method, is it server side this time around?
