how do i tell if the motherboard is able to fit in the case? says ATX and micro ATX and i have no idea what it means...

There's a lot of types, but all you should worry about is ATX and micro ATX. Most (if not all) micro ATX motherboards have 1 PCI Express x16 slot, and they are smaller motherboards in general. They WILL fit in a case that's ATX (full tower). ATX motherboards will fill up a whole ATX tower, but of course, will not fit in a micro ATX case.
