You're on a better track now. I'd avoid effects though. Keep in mind that logos are going to be displayed on more than just a website. Too many effects will not go well on a t-shirt. I like the idea of the gear though. Works well with the "Grind". That leaves room for you to do your 3d stuff and model a gear yourself. After modeling the gear, make it "grind" with a Saw-ish rusty look. From there, you'd have a million text options. Be it embedding them in the gear, or keeping them separate. That's just a recommendation though. A fancy CG gear might be a little too much for some businesses.

Yeah thats what I said too. Avoid effects at all costs. If it's a serious company, they will want to print it on shirts. Printing shirts costs a lot. I liek the current logo. But simplify it more. Get away from effects. Make the blade only 2-4 solid colors, and the text same.
EDIT: Just an example to show what I mean.

See only 3 colors, still would look nice. I could see yours being used as a web graphic. I would present 1 as a web graphic, and one as a true logo to be used on shirts. Also try to use Pantone colors.
BTW, Just curious. Is this a label for Rock, Rap, Pop, ect?

I like the original Idea and concept better than any of the others. It's just the Graff needs work. Rufa isn't a good font to do it with. The Jelly look would work great for what you're doing. It's Eye Catching, and Shiney shit sometimes does the trick. The blur going outward on the second looks unappealing. One Thing I suggest would be Using the first concept, then chrome it. Add a darker blue Underglow if you want, but It'd look better without. a White/Black Stroke Graff won't hurt either.

I agree with Cuda about the first one. But you still have to think T-Shirts, and Stickers, and other things. So I would do this.
Create one for a web graphic. The way you are doing it, ie: outer glow, blur, ect.
Then create one used for Shirts, stickers. Basic colors.
You have the right idea. Now it's just executing it correctly.
If the person still doesn't like it. Sit down with them, and ask them what exactly they are looking for. (Not sounding mean in any way) Just waht colors, what they are looking for in the design, ect.

They might glock him >_> lol, J/K!!!! But yeah, I like where your going with the second one, but if its for a rapper, you might want to consiter gerfiti like text, but text that you can still rad, gerfiti, not somthing like looks like a mentalyretarted person wrote with his ass....HPDarkness1 wrote:I agree with Cuda about the first one.
