my halo is F'ed up

when i start halo it shows the small screen with halo then goes to full screen however it just shows my desktop...i hear the sounds of the front page but dont see anything i have to run as admin to play which makes it a bitch to fix my ping. How do i fix that?(i have uninstalled it twice and reinstalled it
