How the hell do I dock Pidgin on the right side of the screen?

Fuck it, I'm not using this horrible program. It doesn't dock. It shows all of my contacts twice, once for each screen name. It steals background color of the person I talk to. (Talking to GTAF, he has a green background, black text. I use green text, white background. Pidgin takes his green background, and puts my green text on it.) The UI is so bloated and annoying. It has no standard buttons on the message window. The tabs suck. It's just bad in every possible sense. I can't even fathom how this is tolerable to anyone. Meh, to each his own. I'll stick to Trillian, as it doesn't piss me off, and piss off everyone I talk to.

I don't use docking, as I keep it closed and tray'd, and I don't have anyone that uses backgrounds. Works fine for me.

i have been using meebo every since. its great cause i can access 3 accounts at the same time anywhere

Just so everyone knows, meebo.com is just an encrypted web interface for the open-source software Gaim. Gaim is the same software pidgin is based off of and Trillian is usually pirated and IMHO, I don't like to have to click 2-3 times just to create a single IM login because of all the bonus features.

It is impossible to create a holy grail of Messenger clients. You can only take the best of some features.

I'd say the leanest client (which isn't really a client at all) is Meebo
The best for features is obviously Trillian
The best for open-source, free to configure and reprogram to all your greedy needs is Pidgin/gaim

I personally use pidgin because I can configure it to automate all my tasks. And I love the option to use buddy pounces
