YOU SUCK... oh wait you said cheer up lol jsk jsk

my advice(I'm not a good modder but I'm getting there, slowly) is try some mods read some tuts, download some patches of good modds to get the feel of a good mod(don't take or copy anything from them) and make sure they will be impressed of your mod before you post it, like me(still haven't posted a mod but I'm getting there)

It's ok for a first, I would focus on other things other than "Cheating Mods" tho. 5/10, could of been better, even for a first.

Getting better. At least you know the basics and didn't add any cheating modifications in. Here is some advice I have for you.

1. Read tutorials, we have hundreds.

2. Make a theme for your mod, make it completely different from the original map.

3. Add your own touch to the map, make your signiture on it with at least 1 really creative thing in the map.

4. Test your mod for all glitches, it saves you from lots of flames by jackasses.

5. Think, would you like this map to be released to all people, everywhere, to play in place of the old headlong (or whatever mapo you end up modding).

For a first DotHalo mod, I give this a 8/10. :D

Prey wrote:OK, constructive criticism,

1) Ignorance is not an excuse; we have literally hundreds of Tutorials, Tutorials, Tutorials Submissions, Even a Serenity Repository plus a forum of Outstanding Mods! Why would you just jump in with a mod, without doing at least some research into what is actually good.

2) Modding allows us to be creative.. how is tiling the floor with H3 posters, as well as shooting MC's that do nothing, creative in the slightest?

3) Innovativity. Something we haven't seen done before is always intriguing, we've seen this type of mod far to many times now :-/

4) Immersion. I load up this mod and i just see Headlong, i don't want Headlong, I've already had it for 2years+ now. I need new sky, new sounds, new weapons, new everything.

[/rant]. Basically, you need to do your homework.
We were all like him once... even you Prey..
He has probably already compared his mod to other mods, he probably already knows he isn't the best... Give him a break...

Wow, way to flame guys. The least you guys could have done was linked to posts people made before about WHY these mods are frowned upon.

Saying "it sucks/fails ect." tell him WHAT you dont like about it. Tell him to look at the other topics of peoples first mods would have even helped.

So anyways as I ways talking about:
