Me and my friend just beat Gears of War, and I have no problem with saying that it beats Halo and Halo 2 combined 10 times over, ithankyew.
I'm gonna have a big lan party with a lot of friends playing GOW, its gonna be so kick ass!

Who else has played it, and what do you think of it?

Words cannot describe how great this game is. The gameplay is innovative and original, the multiplayer is fantastic, and I can say without exaggeration that Gears of War has the best graphics of any game ever made. I can not tell you how gorgeous it looks on my 32" HDTV.

If you do not own an Xbox 360, this is the reason to get one.

I love Gears... to bad im away from my 360 this weekend...

. I love the gameplay though, and multiplayer is really awesome.

From what I've heard it sounds good, but GTAF from the files forum said it was one of the most over hyped games he's played.

I'm still skeptical, but I'm gonna rent it today or tomorrow.

I'll have to give the game a shot. I'm not a fan of third person shooters though so I'm a bit skeptical about it. The graphics and storyline look pretty good though.

GOW is bloody amazing. Went through it twice yesterday, and going to go through it on insane today probably twice. And the multiplayer actually requires skill and strategy

If you have a 360 don't hesitate to pick it up. It's so much fun and in my opinion, it exceeds the expectations I had build based on all the hype.

Yeah they're great - it really gets the adrenaline pumping when you dive away just in time. And of course, nothing beats frying them with the Hammer of Dawn.

Hmm, I like this game but I haven't played it.

The 'Mad world-trailer' looks amazing, and the enemies are HUGE at times. I wonder how you would kill them..

Gears of War is why I decided to get a 360.

If you have a 360 go and pick up a copy of it, if you dont, go to the store and buy a 360 and GoW.

I saw someone mentioning something about it being 3rd person. I absolutely hate 3rd person shooters, but this game makes the utlimate exception.
My review (lol):

Graphics - Almost cried when I first saw them
Gameplay - Freaking amazing, it's not one of those games where you just run around, shoot a guy in the head, next room, shoot, etc.
Controls - Too logical to be real..
Story - Better than Halo's.
Weapons - Amazing, 'nuff said.
Ending -

Overall it's a 10/10

And for comparison...
Halo is a 5/10 in GOWs' shadow. Until Halo 3 that is
