The main menu and the new maps.

Post by almondo »

Hey, I am having some trouble with my modded main menu. I have successfully added my modded maps to the main menu, but after doing so, I am unable to see my new maps anymore (by new maps, I mean the ones that Bungie released ex. Containment and Warlock). I'm kind of new at this, but I assume that this is because of the files in the TDATA directory that I renamed when adding my modded maps to the main menu.

Now, I assume that I could just go about adding all of the new maps to the main menu in the same way that I added my modded maps, but I dont know if that would cause problems when I try to system link on one of them.

Does anyone know if there is a way to view the new map pack (ex. Containment) on the main menu, after adding my modded maps, and without addding them all to the main menu individually like I did my modded maps? Any help would be appriciated.

I will make this simple for you. Move all your new maps from the TDATA folder (9 in all I believe) and put them into your regular F:\Games\Halo 2\Maps folder. Grab the .sppf from the following link and apply it to a CLEAN mainmenu.map and VOILA! everything as it should be. Then just add your personal maps back in and you should be all set. I did not make this .sppf originally, but I did have to edit the entry for triplicate.map (Terminal) The original maker accidentally had it looking for scenario\multi\terminal\terminal so that map would always fail to load. Well I fixzed it to triplicate\triplicate and I've never had a problem since.

Included is the sppf file and the program needed to patch it to the map.

FYI: lifespan of the file on this service is 7 days.
