And this kind of flamage is why I don't like gearbox.

Now, to not be totally off-topic, I rather enjoyed extincion. In terms of gameplay it was an absolute freking nightmare for ctf, but other gametypes seemed to work well. There were a lot of really good, original ideas in this map, like falling from the ship through the grav lift, but many of the H2 vehicles, especially those big turrets, need lots of improvement. And whoever made the mythos, I think I love you.

M9... You are so totally wrong about Snaf I won't even gratify that with a full response. You don't even know him.

By the way, I'd like to see what you consider impressive...

Offtopic as this may be (Ender's a friend and I helped him with this, so give me some leeway here to end this), I'm sick of people taking exception to the honest opinions of people who actually know a lot more on a subject than they do. I'm sick of people posting their first model and expecting NO criticism whatsoever, even if they've failed at making anything even close to decent, and then when someone says "I don't really like it, it needs work", they proceed to go absolutely ape-shit and start abusing everyone who doesn't suck up to them and say it's the best thing since sliced bread. If someone like Snaf or Katarn says something is crap and needs work, it's because it is. For God's sake people, stop taking everything Snaf says to be some kind of personal insult. You'll never get better thinking he's some elitist, flame-happy prick just because he says something's not good. Anyone who can't take criticism and use it to improve has NO business modeling whatsoever.

Please keep this in mind before you post next time, I'm fed up posting this on every goddamned forum I visit.

I finally started releasing my works. After 2 and a half years. Pop by and try them out!
Please DON'T bug me with questions on how to do basic modding. The tutorials are there for a reason, although I will help if you absolutely need it. Also DON'T ask me about Halo 2 modding, my Xbox isn't even modded.

Well what else would we expect you to say? Even if it is not incredibly impressive, which I think they are, they have already proven what was said earlier. Snaf owns FAB.

I never said people shouldn't have their work critisized. Critisism can help a modder improve their work. However, going off topic to state that someone's work is poorly done, without suggestions on how to improve it, is an obvious sign that the person enjoys putting down someone's work - a fact that you cannot deny. Why else would someone post stuff like that? Also, FAB doesn't even post in this topic, so what good did that critisism do?

I'm getting fed up with seeing people on forums that think they are better than everyone, (even if they are) and critisizing everything that comes short of their work, especially with no suggestions on how to improve and then quickly try to hide their pompous personality to avoid getting hated/getting in trouble by saying that "noobs don't want critisism". Some people do expect no critisism on their first mod, and i can see how someone would get annoyed there after giving them advice and being flamed by the noob, but this is not how it is right now. There is no excuse for putting down someones work when they arn't even around to see it. Not that I'm FAB's best friend or anything, i dont evenn know him, I'm just defending what I feel is right.

dude, come off it. seriously. someone went off topic and expressed their feelings about the draco. i brought up my own. that's where it could have ended, but others wanted to drag it on and on.

first of all, i'm always offering chances to help, one on one, rather than some short post. i stay on with people for a couple of hours if they need it. you don't know me.

i don't try to hide my attitude about people's work. trust me, i'm the biggest critic of my own work, and am asking others what i should do to improve my work all the time. you don't know me.

most often, there's validity in my critique, and if someone can voice a feeling of positivity, i am certainly free to voice one of negativity or dislike. just because everyone else thinks it's good, and i feel otherwise, they all have the need to speak up and call me this or that.

stop behaving like pseudo-fascists. seriously.

I can and will deny that actually. I, unlike you, know Snaf, and know he doesn't delight in putting down others' works.

Right, and has it occurred to you that we're getting sick of the apparent attitude that everyone wants to model just so they can tell their friends they can 3D model, even if they do suck at it? We're not pompous. We're not hiding anything. And no, most people seem NOT to want criticism. If you knew anything about Snaf, Katarn, or me at ALL, you would KNOW that we don't just criticise without advice. Even if something's awful beyond all repair, we tell them to get some references, try different methods, and start over. I couldn't care less if I'm hated, I'm never going to stoop so low as to hero-worship a poor modeler just to avoid getting flamed.

Oh really. I couldn't count the number of times it happens PER DAY on one hand.

Putting their work down and offering honest criticisms on it are two entirely different things. I suggest you learn that difference before choosing to put down another forum member.

With that, I'm requesting a lock... this topic wasn't really going anywhere anyway, and it's served it's purpose of promoting the map.

nice map nice custom vehicles etc very skillfully done.

oooses quality throughout the map.

I have found however the playablilty is rather low. To generalise big maps are not playable, im sure many people will disagree with me. But thats just my generalisation. When i say big i mean so big that the map is less like one map but a compilation of many maps with terrain inconsistant with each other.

This map is well made however the playability is low. It is more a showcase of really cool vehicles etc. I am not slating the content of the map at all it is of the highest quality.

Another point is that the map is to complex, if compared to other maps with good playablility this map is dramatically more complex. Wich also cuases the playability to decrease dramatically. For instance the map bloodgulch is a very simple map, Two bases, a few caves , hiding spots and some hills for cover but it is a very if not the most playble map.
To conclude simplicity is the key.

I think that if a map was made that was much smaller , contained simple yet well thort out terrain and it contained some but not all of the vehicles in this map it would be outstanding i think there is potential to make the best map for halo ce ever within the tags contained in this map, you also obliviously have the skill to do this also.

Keep up the good work, but please please simplify and scale the maps down. :)

Trust me, this isn't even close to high quality, but to Ender's credit he did improve it a lot over the first pictures he released. Me and Snaf are helping Ender out with his next map, so it will be a LOT better.

It would be a lot more playable if it wasn't for the horrific lag... something tells me his portalling got raped in the final build, the betas ran fine.

Ooooh yeah , how can i forget the lag, but what can you expect from a map this large with such a high amount of vehicles in it.

We both have similar computers. You don't hear many people complaining about FPS though, most people have the new stuff and probably get 50 on that map.
