[Halo 2] Skinning help

Post by Sgt.Peppers »

Ok, I made a very simple MC skin for halo 2 (just to see if I could make skins for H2) but when I FTP them to my xbox NOTHING has changed, the MC is exactly the same, and yes I cleared my cache (E:/cache, X, Y, Z)

Note: This is for Single Player.

Can someone please help?

Thanks

You need to internalize the bitmap.

Open your map in this, find the bitmap, and hit the HUGE "Internalize" button.

Ok I did that and it told me to open a mainmenu map and I did, then I FTP'd it to my box and it said the disc was dirty or damaged. Obviously I did something wrong but you tell me what?

Sorry but I'm such a n00b when it comes to Halo 2.

Do you have the mainmenu.map and shared.map in your E:\games\Halo2\maps?

Yes, I fixed the dirty disc problem, but my skins still aren't showing up.
Can you just tell me step by step how to do this correctly starting with inject the bitmap? I would REALLY appreciate that.

Thanks.

1. Open up the map in Halo 2 Internalize bitmap
2. Then choose the bitmap tag.
3. Hit the big Internalzie button and it should ask for you to choose the mainmenu.map or shared.map so choose which ever.
4.It should say done or something similar.
5.Close H2IB and open up your map that you want to edit the bitmap.
6.Go to the (bitmap) tag and find your bitmap you want to edit.
7.Then simply inject the .dds.
8.Then resign it/fix encryption and ftp it to your xbox.
