halo cache editing
I was told the best program for an ametur xbox modder thats just starting out was the halo cache editor. But recently I was told that it does more than just mod the projectiles from the maps!I was told you could mod the maps themselves. Is this true?I was also told the cache editor lets you mod right on the xbox itself! Is this true?PLZ help.

Yes, it's a program which runs 100% on xbox, modifications can be made and played without the need of a PC.
HOWEVER. I would not recommend modding with this, except for if you want to make very very basic mods which you aren't going to release anyway.
HMT + HHT is just a lot better.
EDIT: Besides, basic functions of HCE are:
Fog
Projectiles
Weapons/Vehicle offsets swapping
Sky(?)
Applying .ppf patches (good function)

I'm sorry but by ameture I meant major ameture.I don't know much computer language so if you could break down what you said into simpler terms I would deffinatly appreaciate it.I don't understand HMT and HHT.I also don't know what you meant by applying ppf.patches, offset swapping and what did you mean when you said "arn't going to release"?.Also by 100 % does that mean you don't have to soft modd the xbox? This is alot of questions I know but I realy appreaciate the help.thx
