Hey its not Katarn's fault that he kinda gets cocky sometimes, its bound to happen if you guys give him too much praise (anybody will be like that).
Like Katarn said His weapons are designed to get ingame withou lagging up gameplay and a clean model so the texture artist can have a clean uvw to look at. Also i can see why Katarn comes back here its the same with me even though i dont mod halo its been a habit since i have been here for so long.

I'd be more inclined to say July 2004. I joined just in time for the site to get swamped by little kids who can't seem to read or write and have an aversion to obeying rules, oh the joy.Katarn wrote:I meant no disrespect, penguin. Though, I would like to see more than this one (which is one of your first, no?)
You can't compare my weapons to penguin's. Sure, I could do something that looks better, though i'm very busy working on things that actually go ingame. This, upwards of 10000 polygons has no chance of going ingame anywhere in excess of a novelty gun.
You guys really don't know what I can and do do. I don't post here often enough or care enough about this community to really continue being here often. The attack of the preteens killed halomods in about july 2005.
I vote we stop arguing over who could do better and just give our opinions on the model, not the modeler.

Ok well to conclude this argument, it is not proffesional work. Katarn can do much better, halmods has died, and snaf is right.
all better
now back on topic, what do ya think. please tell me of innacuracies so i may fix them ^_^
now i have to go fix the effing air conditioning cause it just died...peace

it's got a nice amount of detail. i'd like to see it all accurately placed, though. halomods is dead. it was burried by log mods, bad pc skins, and vert stretch models, lol.Caboose{SE} wrote:Ok well to conclude this argument, it is not proffesional work. i believe katarn mentioned the innaccuracies in the reciever and magazine well. good luck.

Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D

1. The m203 main piece (not firing chamber) is way too fat.
2. The back of the telescopic stock is really the wrong shape.
3. Ejection port cover is way too tall and not round enough.
4. Back of carry handle is too boxy
5. Missing an indent in the Charging handle
6. WTF is up with the forward assist?
7. Wheel thing beneath the rear sight is too small
8. The sights don't appear to work?
9. Missing some detail on the left side
10. Your barrel has too many useless extrusions, etc. on it & flash hider appears off
11. The box thing on the upper receiver near the foregrip is too boxy lol
12. Is your leaf sight usable?
13. No bullets in the mag? Top of mag is open? I can't see
14. Fire selector is too small and flat
Stuff like that.

15. The magazine release tensioner on the left side of the mag well (the switchlike thing that's folded back towards the trigger) and the extruded but it sits in are too small and too far back on the well
16. As Katarn pointed out... the bold assist. The button should be round, tht one you have is from the M16A1
17. Switch in top back corner on left side of mag well is a bit too small, and too far back
18. Back end of magazine well, where it meets the trigger guard, should be rounded off
19. To my knowledge, they don't use the old 20-round box mags in the M4 at all, only the early M16A1s and the SPR (SR-25)
That, plus what Katarn said, is all that you need to make a great looking model perfect.
