MOTM has to be a serenity or ppf hosted on halomods...

Whoever created "sized ppfs" should be shot. Does nobody realize that the ppf is nearly the same size and sometimes bigger than the actual map it's applied to? Obviously something's wrong there...

You have about 4 days left in October, I'd try to make a normal patch for this and get it posted with a post date before the 31st..

If I have the time I'll see what i can do about making it serenity compliant. This definitely deserves to be in the competition.

And miles is correst theres nothing we can do now that we cant open the map in dark matter or add anymore chucke or we would put stuff likt the sword in the stone :wink:
lol :P And then they all go up on top and scope in with the cross bows or bow and arrow (can't remember the vid right now) and the dude on the horse is riding peacefully alone and they all start shooting at him lol. ah... me going to go on Xlink now and see if anybody has it :) :lol:

Serenity supports everything from shader swaps to BSP injections...And yes, injected models are in there too...Fix the holes in the meta, and this map should work fine with Serenity...

You can add chunks to a map and it will still be system link compatible but there is a limit to how many chunks you can add to a map before it just skrews the whole thing up. Ive tested this and I didnt think that I was the only one who knew lol.

Wow how the hell did you manage to screw the map up that badly lol. I took a look and didn't notice anything too drastic...I'm still willing to help but you'll need to tell me what program you used and how you used it, and what types of hexing were involved.

dude thats gay, besides u may not liek it but for every mod i have made with some kind of spawning has broken the rules :x so sized ppfs is my back up and it helps a shit load. And xbox, i REALYL appreciate that, im glad u offered and if u happen to get it working i would go insane since i injected like 11 models, again thx :wink:

About that...what was your approach to injecting? Did you inject smaller metas over bigger ones? If that is the case...its easily fixable and I suggest you take a look at Forge's little picture and try to locate the offsets, you might notice a pattern.

It's nothing at all against you or your mod, I like the mod and the idea behind it. My problem is against people who are unwilling or don't care to LEARN or even try to understand what they're doing.

You see, a sized ppf is basically the same as releasing a .map, I said whoever invented them should be shot because they don't do anything useful. The PPF generated is usually bigger than the .map even, so they don't even save file size. It was someone's (bad) attempt to try and make ppfs work on halo map's, when ppf's were invented for a totally different use (playstation). Halo maps have a special format, Serenity was designed to use this format to create an efficient patch for any correctly made map. So if you can't create a normal ppf, or a serenity, there's something wrong, and sized ppfs is NOT the answer.

The only reason people use sized ppf is because they messed a map up way too bad for normal ppf or serenity. The rules for MOTM were to encourage people to LEARN what they're doing wrong, how they're messing up a mod, and FIX it, so that you can make a nice SMALL sized patch, and post it. Sized PPFs are for people saying "hmm, I f'd something up pretty bad, but instead of trying to figure out what and fixing it, I'll just release this shitty ppf that's bigger than the whole map."

This is a bit off topic, so if you'd like to continue discussing why the rules are the rules, or the reasons for them, or if you'd like me to further explain why this point-click-mod generation of modders sucks for not understanding or TRYING to understand what these programs actually do to the maps for them, therefore can never fix their own problems, feel free to PM me or drop by #insolence on irc.shadowfire.org.

hmm, well i can tell u this. The reason i could not make a patch was because i injected too many models and either SERENITY or DARKMATTER cannont support a patch. So, basically my problem is the models. I have no clue how to hex nor fix holes in the map, so unless there was a tut on how to fix certain things like this. It would INSANLY help cause less peopel will be having problems patching it. :P
