real Mark 6 armor + plasma rifle...

Post by DSades »

Nightmare made some cool armor a while back as most of you know. I'm also a prop maker, and the Mark 6 armor is my next project. :D

You guys are extremely talented--I know nothing about moding, though I've tried. I'd really appreciate some help.

I need the Halo 2 Master Chief and Plasma Rifle 3D models (even better if you can provide real-world measurments). Something like this link would be perfect:
Master Chief rendering

These are replicated pistols from Halo 1 and 2 after obtaining 3D models:

The same will be done with the Mark 6 armor + Plasma Rifle (possibly more weapons in the future!). All I need are the models to make an accurate replication.

Can anyone help? If need be, I'll pay--I just a sucker for accuracy.

Thanks very much.

D

p.s. I've also got metal Batarangs from Batman Begins as a "thank you" for whomever helps--they're screen accurate steel from the movie that you can throw at things, only don't poke an eye out.

I started mine about ... about... hmmm let me think... umm about a Year ago I started but I had alot of stuff to do and pretty much canned the project unfortantly... I was making with cardboard hot glue gun and was going to use paper mache but never got that far. I only got the main structure of the vest done and hadent gotten the Detailed stuff on like the back and some of the front. Just PM me or post your email or whatever and I will send the models to you.

Love to help you out with your project  !

well, not a real, firing plasma rifle of course, but a "real" physical one you can hold.

My plans are to have lights at the tips, and the glowing side design--so yes. I'm playing around with the idea of making the human rifles as Airsoft kits, but in reality, I don't see that happening. (but who knows?)

first thing's first: I still need detailed models. What model does Bungie use for it's calendar/print/high res art? It looks like a different 3d model.

Thanks guys.

The pistols were actually made by a friend, and a kit costs $125. The prop world is much different from "commercial goods"--it takes big bucks and lots of time to make the first one, then even more money to mold it, cast it, etc. After all that, only two dozen or so will be made (so you have to spread the cost of the project across less numbers, making each piece more expensive). Us prop guys who do these side projects almost never make any money on these types of projects.

Besides, we don't make props for money, but for love of the props.

Anyway, point is, I'm not selling them, and they're not close to $50.

back on topic: I looked around more and you guys do some fantastic things! Hopefully I can do the armor and weapons some justice outside the virtual domain.

the battle rifle is next on my list--the Halo 1 version, because it just looks so much cooler than H2's.

I'm writing up a step-by-step tutorial on how exactly I made the plasma rifle, so that should be a good guide to follow for making any of the weapons (and other similar props).

I'm using Milkshape 3D to view these 3D files, and I imported the model fine, but I don't know how to import the *.dds texture. help?

also, I still need the textures for Master Chief. thanks guys!
