ok i have xbox live. i have never had mods on any of the new maps in tdata.

i do not want to mod on xbox live. i want to be able to load the new maps out of my maps folder (e/games/halo 2/maps) when i play of my Hard Drive and load the maps out of tdata/.......64/$c when i play with the disc.
if i do this, where the maps load out of when im on live?

Relook at it Tom. What you are trying to do is why I made that tutorial.
When you play the game off the HDD, the maps will load out of the E:\Games\Halo 2\maps\ directory.
If you play off the disc, then they will load out of the E:\TDATA\4d530064\$C\ directory.
The reason that's throwing you off, is the AU. The AU will determine if you can load maps out of the E:\Games\Halo 2\maps\ directory while you play off the HDD, or load out of the E:\TDATA\4d530064\$C\ directory when you play off the disc.
Lets talk on AIM.

i think i get it.
the AU makes it so that you can't play the new maps out of the maps folder?

i dont want to have to change any files when switching from live to playing modded new maps

Then get two xbox's, or rename the files each time.

Yeah, infact me and Ketchup played some H2:CE the other day, just copy your H2 directory and run the other default.xbe
