No, it's not p2p. Come on now, think, what is dedicated to distributing Xbox homebrew software (it's not a website, by the way). Come on now, think hard; I'm sure you know it.looknbarrel wrote:Not just limewire but p2p in generalDoorM4n wrote:hehe limewire
I completely agree.just tried this out. it's awesome. THIS is what mimesis should standardize. no weapon or skin mod jobs. just completely new maps.
don't get me wrong, the weapon and skin mods out are cool too, but not for a downloadable content app.

You must have a 1.1 AU from Bungie installed for any Mimesis maps to work. The altest update from Bungie broke the ability to play unofficial maps from DLC.
Also.... please read the FAQ at http://www.projectmimesis.com/faq/ There is a lot of information there (over 40 topics) and I am confident that you will find your help quickly there rather than repeating the same questions over and over again.
Alos for those who are wondering where to download.... you must get a copy of Mimesis (from the usual places) and run it just as any other xbox application, on your xbox. There you will see content available listed for download on your tv screen. Select the maps to download then hit 'B'. THis will begin the download to your xbox and when you return to the main menu choose "install" and hit 'A' on each map that you downloaded with Mimesis and it will install them.
As long as you have the 1.1 AU installed and a mainmenu that does not have a lot of slots filled up, then you will see the maps you installed in your map chooser in Halo 2. If you do not have the the most recent AU from LIVE installed, then you will see the map in the map list but when you try to play it will go to a black screen then return to the main menu. That is the security that Bungie added to prevent mods on LIVE. You will need an older 1.1 AU for the Mimesis maps to work.
I hope that this clears up some things for you guys. If you have any questions, you can always get help at the forums on the Mimesis website. http://www.projectmimesis.com/forums/

The application looks so damn professional, the maps look great, Im sure all of the modding community can breath a sigh of relief after seeing a million-and-one ways to put a damn skin on a warthog
Excellent job, and I believe that this is the turning point where halo 2 modding will never be the same
Thanks TSF, angrycamel, and all the rest involved in this development
