How to get modded maps working

How to get modded maps working

I put the modded map in my halo 2/maps folder but it wont show up. Do I have to do something in order for it to show up in the choose map screen?

yes, you have to change the mainmenu.map in a program like DotHalo if I'm not mistaken.....first open up your modded map (the virgin map with applied patch) in Hex Workshop, then go down a little to find scenarios\multi\*mapname*\*mapname*. Change the name to whatever you want, but keep it at the SAME LENGTH as the original name (I recomment changing one of the vowels with a number: aka, "A" could be "4") (and also be sure to have a backup of the virgin map, just in case). Now, open up mainmunu.map with DotHalo (or something like it) and look for the (matg) tag and click on globals\globals. Now it has a box you can scroll through with mp maps 1-49, the empty ones start at 12. Put a name and description in a blank number and for scenario name put scenarios\multi\*whatever you named the map in Hex Workshop*\*whatever you named the map in Hex Workshop*. Save, sign, jingle jangle you have another map on your list!
