As part of the modded ammo game I have running, I modded the plasma rifle on my bloodgulch map for use as a stun gun.
It is totally hilarious to watch the other guy twitching and limping about like a human flood. It incapacitates the enemy player for 4 -5 seconds and then leaves them unable to move at normal speed or jump around. The player can still fire weapons, and vehicle operation is not affected, they just cant move very quick. Once killed they respawn fully normal. I have been testing it online (late at night), and its good to have a new element in the game!
I used HMT for the adjustments, it only takes a few seconds to mod the settings. If anyone else is interested in this, would it be ok for me to post the revised HMT settings for this effect, instead of a full patch?
Oh yeah, Please let me know if its already been done and I'll STFU.

You do realise that the stun settings are part of the damage related to EACH projectile fired, and that the AR fires 15 rounds a second, so times your stun effect by 15 in this case for a full on hit!!
I had the plasma rifle set for single fire, damage dropped to 10.
Permanent stun was
stun 9999
stun 1
stun time 9999
5 second temp stun was
stun 1500
stun 1
stun time 1500
This produces a significant player ability speed drop. The players moves around like one of the human flood zombies in the campaign game.
Be warned that a lot of people will comment " whoa got some bad lag!" Its good a t this point to tell them its not lag, you've been stunned. Slow players limping around in midfield have a tendency not to last too long. Once they respawn, the effects have disappeared.

I wasn't planning on releasing it as a mod. I havent changed the appearence of the plasma rifle or created a new weapon model or anything. It s just an HMT ammo setting tweak, there's no way there would be enough interest to warrant making a patch. We dont usually see more than three or four in play at the same time, because you have to wait for another to respawn. If the other team figure out you're carrying the stun gun, they tend to hunt you down with intent to harm, it REALLY P****s people off!
It doesnt effect your ability to fire back and defend yourself, or operate a vehicle. But the chances of you making that mad dash on foot carrying the flag are seriously compromised.

Its not running 24/7 cos I need the bandwidth for other things during the day. It runs most evenings after 7pm EST. If you just want to search the Gamespy list, the server is "Everyone Welcome Here".
