YOYORAST ISLAND: Potentialy, the best map ever made but...
Guys! Excalibur sent me a mail... I have the answers! But let's say Excalibur is forgiven, he was in vaccation and forgot to tell me so... he has made his best for puting the map in game but has now new priorities and thinks it's to hard to get the work done... I want to thank him for all he did...
As we are making a big party now, I'll speak tomorrow of the event's following... Happy chritmas everybody!

Well guy! Here is the new situation regarding this unending adventure that is Yoyorast Island Project (YIP):
As you already know Excalibur has now new priorities and can't do the work anymore... Thanks again to you man and good luck for the projects... he has left me a really smart and kind email explaining his reasons and even flatting a little my ego
( I don't think he will get ungry with me if I post a copy here ):
Ah, I'm sorry dude. I was away on vacation. It's my fault, I forgot to
notify you. Anyway, I don't think I'll be working on this anymore
because I got a really big project in school using 3ds max that I have
to work on. I'm sorry, but if you want me to recommend someone to pick
up where I left off, I'm pretty sure I can get you some one good like
Taco. Honestly, you are a good modeller but the idea is a little to
extreme. I understand you are trying to do something different and all
but it just isn't meant to be played in Halo. My cousin said it looks
like a roller coaster park, and it does, lol. You have a unique talent
I haven't seen in ages in people that make Halo Levels. You are one of
the first's to take an extreme leap from halo-themed maps to something
completely different and have some success. I'm sorry, and I hope this
doesn't make you too mad seeing as I was the second attempt at this
map. It just has too many errors for me to hassle with. If you feel
like you need to do it yourself, I can guide you through the whole
process over MSN. I'm sorry.
Sincerely,
Excalibur
I'm posting it here, for you to see that he seems to think think it would be very difficult to get this model ingame... With him thinking this, Taco leaving some time ago, and many people here telling me it's nearly impossible to get it in game... I certainly should drop it... But you guys can't imagine the amount of work I've been putting in that map (I started modeling the 1rst version 6 month ago), in the mean time the HaloCE community has been a bit deserted by people but I think it's still worth to try to put this ingame and have the "best map ever" like I originally dreamed it.
I have reach the "point of not coming back", now I have to go to the end even if it's just for fun!
So, I've been in good contact with SSDC since some time now and he seems the one that can try to fix the huge amount of errors in the model... then maybe we could make a team to have fast progress... maybe with some of his contacts like JamesD for example... We're already looking for a good, I mean very good and motivated skinner... no betatester for the moment please... thanks... Oh maybe someone could make a sig for the Yoyorast Island Project team members....
Just a detail though: I'm not at home during 10 days from now (vacation), so, Excalibur would you please send the model to SSDC at his msn mail adress [email protected] , this way we won't loose time anymore. Thanks man
Let's see if the future is brighter than the past...

The problem is that Excalibur doesn't seem to be around again
, and he has the original model in his hand... Man, if you're reading this, please, be smart, send it to SSDC fastly... cause I'm not at home for the next 9 days and I won't be able to send it myself.. I don't want to loose another 9 days!

Thanks very much everybody for your support and comments
this is driving me forward...
Well Guys, I finally got my model back from Excalibur and I sent it to SSDC
... He is very motivated and really seems good at fixing errors (1800 mostly due to the problem of conversion from amapi to 3dsMax )... So the work should progress pretty fast... After this, we should have some other people joining the effort (skinner, animators and all....), these guys will mainly be SSDC's contacts (I put my trust in him to hire the best guys out there)... By the way, I'm still looking for someone interesting in making sigs for the team members of Yoyorast Island Project (YIP)...
I don't want to be too optimistic this time but, with SSDC on it right now, things are looking brighter
I'm confident

Thanks man..{ST} 117 wrote:Im a good sig maker, ill make all of the sigs u need. Just give me some details and names, quotes, pictures, colours, type(grunge/tech/other), and how many, and ill whip em up for u.
alternativly u can go down to the introductions and sigtesting forum and post there.
you are free... you can use the pics there http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/sh ... 93&fpart=1 and write Yoyorast Island or Yoyorast island Project or YIP... or both..
and if you could leave 120 pixels free in the large to be able to add a personal sig as mine... it would be cool...
thanks

Sorry man, i'm not clear enough (i'm french{ST} 117 wrote:im not sure what u meen by that. 120 pixels empty at the side or bottem?yoyorast wrote: and if you could leave 120 pixels free in the large to be able to add a personal sig as mine... it would be cool...
also, how many do u need? ill make one for each teem member.

Yes i thought 120 pixels free at the side ... this way, for example i'll be able to keep my actual sig... So you don't need to make diferents sig for each team member but a unique little one... And I'm not sure everybody on the team is ok to change their sig because it's just a begining collaboration so... don't waste to much effort in it... One thing is sure, I'll be wearing it proudly.... if it's good

Unfotunatly, I'm not at home (with my computer, map, and rendering prog) for 7 days more... so I won't be able to do that until then.... sorry{ST} 117 wrote:one more question:
cud u possibly give me a render of ur map with just a bright green or bright red background, because this map is a real hard to cut out neatly.
if u can that wud be great, but if u cant, i mite be able to get one of the people at gamerenders to do it. ty.
I'm sure you can do it without it
