I am trying so hard but getting nowhere...

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

I am trying so hard but getting nowhere...

I keep getting errors in my map! I am trying to make a tunnel by booleaning a box to make the the shape I want, then booleaning it into the terrain. But when I boolean it into the terrain sometimes it doesn't even boolen, other times it booleans but the faces on the inside of the tunnel are missing! So there's just a hole in the map!

How do I make tunnnels!?

Try making the ends of the tunnel end directly along either the X or Y axis and it works better if it is just 4 sided. I made a tutorial about it on www.fortresshalo.com/sonictag

Yeah but do you know why the faces don't show up?

!!

if your talking about the floor...when booleaning you want to make surethe inner box is raised at least .1 off the outter box, or else a floor will not be generated

If it just creates a hole, it means that the surface may be too complex, or if you mesh smooth somewhere it usually wont work. Try tesselating the area you want to boolean and then try it.

Wait... won't that make it MORE COMPLEX?

Well, in theory it would, but it creates surrounding polygons which sometimes makes it work. Or else cut a flag shape into it, create polygon in that shape, and then you may be able to boolean ontop of that.
