Editing an effect's lifetime...

Post by Evil Cortana »

I was hoping to be able to set people on fire on the level Keyes, becasue there is a flame effect that deals damage. I swapped that for the assault rifle impact flood effect, but ingame the flame only lasts a brief second or two. Is there any way to make it last longer?

I think it is called flame life. Its either under the pctl or pphy tags.

Alright, I don't want to sound rude, but that's not it. that will adjust how long the flame particles last. The particles aren't what deal the damage. the actual effect is what damages enemys. If I set the flame life of the \burning flame, all thats going to happen is there would be some wierd ass flame effect slowly moving across trhe screen.

I did this before, the flame will last longer, but the actual effect doesn't. I quits damaging after 1 second no matter how high the lifetime of the particle is

do you need a plugin to edit the [part] or are you doing it in hex?

I didn't mean to get your hopes up, sorry if I did, I just wanted to know how to edit [part] time becuz I switched an effect so that when you shot the grunt it catches on fire, but it only last a secand, so I was wondering what program and plugin your using.
sorry I can't answer your question I'm a huge noob
