I would LIKE to help out too (don't think I don't), but I want to keep my source code to me until my new version of HMT is released. Then you'll be able to download its source off of sourceforge.net or hek.teamhalo.net. Anyways, good luck on your side.

WOW! I go away for a couple days and come back to find over 20 replies! Well, I haven't been here so no new progress has been made by me, but I think that I will try to figure out the "reflexive" system works on the HaloCE tags. I know this isn't necessary for converting from HaloCE to Halo because HMT 3.5 does it automatically, but I would really like to have the converter work BOTH ways.

Also, it has come to my attention that HaloCE maps are basically in the same format as the Halo maps, but I would like to be able to convert the HaloCE tags themselves instead of compiling them into a map file, extracting them, and then using them. Just thought I'd tell you guys in case anybody was wondering about that.

Hmmm.... I have NO clue how the reflexives work in HaloCE tags, but I'm not sure if we need them: If I change all of the reflexives (at least I think that's what they are) in assault rifle.item_collections to 00 00 00 00 and open it in Guerilla, it seems just fine. It just adds them back in. More on this later...

P.S. So far I've been using item_collection tags for my testing because they are so simple. However, this may pose a problem in the future if my research applies ONLY to this tag type. I don't think this will happen though... :?

don't mean to post 3 replies in a row but...

YES!!! I did it!

I sucessfully converted elite specops.actv.meta to elite specops.actor_variant for HaloCE. I still don't know exactly how it's done, but baby, its within our grasp.

Did you just pop in a source tag header into the meta? Casue you also have to reverse all of the values too (ie floats, tag references, shorts, etc.) for them to display corrrectly in guerilla

I could help on this.
Because for my maps I really want a drivable pelican WITHOUT me struggling to make a tag with it.

Well, this has definitely been achieved - there is the new SP level desertplat, which is a re-skinned Truth&Reconcilliation, but with a full set of scripted AI controlled enemies. Elites, grunts, jackals, hunters are all in there. They could only have been extracted form HaloPC.

actually they were extracted using a tag converter (not mine)
(My sig was too big. It should have been 400 X 200 with 3 lines or less of text)

No it wasn't... It was 370 x 117 and one line of text... *Remakes sig*
