CastleFortress for Hangemhigh v1
CastleFortress for Hangemhigh v1
Here's another skin mod. This makes hangemhigh look and feel like a castle fortress. It's mostly stone textures, with castle brick walls. I can't get pics, but it's definitely worth the download. This should patch over any other mod since it only changes the bitmaps. Can anyone get some nice big pics for me?

Thanks a lot The_Evolved.
TheMadModder - It's just time. I think of a theme that would look good on a level, then get good pics/images for it. I pull all of the images I want to change with HMT 3.5 to see how they look in Photoshop compared to the level. Then change the images, check in game play, change images, check in game play, etc.
The toughest part of skinning I think is the images that repeat, like floors, walls etc. The brick walls were a pain. I tried at least 15 different images for the walls, and most of them looked great up close and repeated well, but from far away their mipmaps made ugly patterns. Even the current brick looks a little weird from far away (look at the ceiling), but it's not too bad. Photoshop has tons of tools you gotta get familiar with, and there are lots of plugins out there to help make good textures too.
Getting all the different textures to look good together is also tough. I had lots of extra textures that I tried to use in this and my other skinning mods like Death Valley and Death Canyon, but they just didn't fit the level so I'll try to use them in future mods.
