making mappacks

Post by blackdiamond »

whenever i make a mappack and try to put it onto a dvd, it does a lot of strange things. but ill start with the killtrocity one first. when i first tried to get killtrocity mappack to work, it worked, but i had to keep reloading the game at least 20 times before it loaded it right, then i could play it. right now, im having the same problem.
i have the maps right, read all the instructions, and have the folders right as well. i am trying to get the AI revision mappack. i have a dvd+rw , i used C-Xbox Tool 2 to make the iso, and I used nero to burn it at i believe 2.4x.
when i put the dvd in, it makes strange sounds for about 5-10 min, then it says it is a game, so i click launch DVD. it says loading H2R AI Revision. Then it brings me back. what is wrong with this thing?!?! do i have to format it to something different than a data disc? i have vista

EDIT: i kept trying, and i just found out that this time it classifies it as data?

EDIT: more tries, and this time it says UNKNOWN

You should try burning to a DVD-R, they usually do not give you any errors. I believe it has to do with the format of the disk that is sometimes unreadable.
