Bloodgulch.map won't change, always causes exception

Post by LinkGray »

Even if I delete bloodgulch.map completely, and reinstall halo, it comes back and it gives an exception error and the previous mod is still there.

Then I tried putting someone else's mod on it because that would for sure work, well it didn't work. It's still the same mod. The file SIZE changed but the actual map didn't change.

I have no idea whats going on to be honest and I'm an advanced modder. P.S. my friend will kill me if I don't get this fixed. it's his computer not mine, even though it's his computer that isn't cooperating.

Are you running Vista?

If so run halo as an administrator so it sees that the map file has changed.

clear your cache files. if not worky, delete bloodgulch.map but keep halo installed. then see if you can run blood gulch. if you can.....i have no idea. run CHKDSK or Scandisk to see if its an error or a stuck file. if it is, go into admin and delete it. still not working? start>run>regedit then search for "microsoft games" then delete EVERY SINGLE halo-related registry key. if all fails...

install halo in a different folder... :p
