If you modded your map and you want to play it but you never "resigned it," then thats why your failing to load the map.
First off, download both CMR 1 and CMR 2, my personal opinion, they are the best resigning tools.
CMR 2 will resign any map except for Desolation and Tombstone (read the rest of the tutorial to find out what to do with Desolation and Tombstone). Just open CMR 2, then open your map, click resign, and your done! Transfer the map to your xbox and your ready to play it. Make sure you click the button "fix encryption" on dot halo if you used it, before you use CMR 2.
If you want to resign Desolation or Tombstone, You will have to use CMR 1 and manually resign it. When you resign your map, your changing the signature of the map so that halo 2 reads it as a normal map. Your just tricking halo 2 so that it thinks you using a normal map when your really aren't.
These are the signatures for Tombstone and Desolation that you need to manually resign them:
Tombstone (highplains2.map): BBB7FF9B
Desolation (derlict.map): 79BB7689
Open CMR 1 and open up Tombstone or Desolation. On the right hand side of the program will be a text box, insert the appropriate code i gave you for the map you opened. Then click the button above the text box, "Sign Map." Just make sure you fix the encryption on dot halo (if you used dot halo) before you use CMR 1. Then you can ftp it and play it.

We use Entity to mod the map, why not use it to resign it? Also, the only reason you would need to resign those 2 new maps the way you posted would be for DLC. Most of the time we use Snaves mainmenu patches for them.
Other than that, good job, should help newer modders understand map signatures better.
