Inserting Covenant Capitol Ship

Post by Magical_Beans »

Well, I need some help. I have been trying to get a Covenant Capitol ship into a map. Actually, I plan on nulling out the map and making a map on top of the model "Covenanyt Capitol ship". I was looking around for differnt machs on the level "Spcae Station 01" or whatever, and there is a Covenant Capitol ship mach. So, I need help on nulling out a map, inserting the covenant ship, and then, well, that's basically all I need.

I have searched high and low for a tutorial for a few days, but couldn't find one that I need. I will gladly accept all responses. Please do not flame.

If all turns out good, I would gladly post the map! I just have to figure out a few things!

Hmm interesting idea you've got there. I don't think it's collision would be right though (someone correct me if I'm wrong.) Also, I think what you'd do is move the ship somewhere far away from the original BSP, and moving the spawns where you like them.

Not sure if that's the best way to do it, however from my knowledge, it's how I would. I'm sure someone else can point you in the right direction better than I can.

Correct, I've tried this before and I had no collision
a suggested Idea would to place machs such as door_plug from sentinel walls as close as you can to the original covenant ship, then null the shaders of the placed mach.

As for spawning it, I duped the itmc of... say a rocketlauncher and swapped the (properties mb? i forgot =P) to be the capital ship, which was scenery.

Then I just cloned a chunk in the scenario, swapped the new chunk's itmc with the new itmc which I just created, moved it how I wanted on entity's Bsp viewer, and blam, you've got yourself a turkey sandwich.

I tried what your'e doing a loooong time ago, except the level was kinda under the capital ship at a certain spot which looks kinda like a landing dock(sorry, just can't really describe what it looks like :P)

As for removing the rest of the map, theres a handy app out there called bsp editor which will remove the bsp. try the search engine because i'm a little lazy right now, lol

And...
Please do not flame.
why would we flame you, this is a help section :P

Hope I helped :)

Well, I inserted the ship into Foundation, but the map won't load even after resigning. I resigned it three different times with three different re-signers. (Tried once, failed, put map back on PC, try different re-signer, failed, you get the point.)

What did I do wrong?
