Emblem Avatars

Post by Sarb »

Alright lately I've seen quite a few people with emblems as their avatars, it gets really confusing.

So I think there should be a rule about this, k

Thanks.

What sort of emblems? I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

That kind of emblem. People are putting them as their avatars and it's kind of annoying.

Admins don't have control over the emblems. Several chosen members are in charge of certain types of emblems. They are chosen because of their expertise in that category.

And it's possible that a rule will be made about the emblem avatars. However, it's really obvious and the people with them are severely cutting their chances of ever getting an emblem even if they are "qualified" for one... Having emblems doesn't make you cool. It just shows some of the stuff you're good at or have done during your stay at HaloMods.

Uh...*hides*. Nah, I've had that forever even before the avatars were allowed and the forum merge.
Anyways, I haven't seen anyone use that as an avatar but I have seen this. Is this what you are talking about Sarb?
Image
Or are you talking about any emblem in particular. Anyways, I agree it is confusing and I agree with Exile Lord about emblems don't make you cool etc. I think it would be nice if that was a rule. =)

Agreed.. I mean just look at me, Im a real good modder and help people out and dont have an emblem nor do i care if i ever get one. All they are are pictures that people overreact over.

As do I.

About the rule, I too feel it should be in place. It should be right after the 'No impersonating staff ranks with Avatar' rule.

It would be the usual:

If avatar breaks the rules, remove/warn the person. If the user continues a temp ban will occur.

We had a rule against staff impersonation on the old forums...now we don't have specific avatars given to staff members, but we could just as easily make a similar rule regarding emblems.

What if you're like me and they're obviously fake? :?

I don't have a problem with removing them if people don't like it, though.

That seems acceptable to me.

Putting existing emblems as avatars are annoying, I'd like to see a rule against that.

I think the poin is that there are peole who act as if they have been given official Halomods emblems when they indeed have not earned them. I think there is no issue with non-official halomods emblems used in sigs. Halomods emblems are a privledge given by those (or he) selected by Halomods to do so. You can't honor yourself with official emblems.
