what IS mimesis?

Ive heard a lot about this "project mimesis" or whatever and i heard that its a menu to play modded games or something for a modded xbox. well, i just wanted to know exactly what it is? id really appreciate it if someone could give me a full response on what mimesis is. ive been to projectmimesis.com, and i dont exactly know what all the fuss is about. if its allowed, could someone plz pm me a download or something with an explanation? if not then just explain it w/o the download. thanx a million

Mimesis is a content download tool for the Xbox, it is Homebrew software, so can be only used with Modded Xboxes. You can download content for Halo 2, only the best maps get put up for download.

The way it works is rather simple. (To explain in a simple way, not so much how it's done technically-speaking. >_>) In the same way Bungie can add new content to the TDATA, via Xbox Live, the Mimesis team can add new content to the TDATA via Mimesis.

It's like downloadable content on xbox live.

But with user modded maps and not xbox live.

It isn't exactly legal to distribute. You have to find it other places. I wouldn't suggest asking where to get it. That kind of talk isn't allowed
