Campaign Weapon Holder Into Multiplayer?

Post by whizkid289 »

I've been curious if it's possible to insert the Cairo Station weaopn holders into multiplayer. I also have a few questions if it in fact, possible...

-Would it be possible to insert the weapon holder onto a wall?
-Would it spawn with weapons?
-Are there two different types, seeing as there are ones that have Battle Rifles, and ones that have SMG's?
-Would the weapons be able to be picked up?
-Would the bar lift when you're near it?
-Would non-modders be able to see and interact with it?

If it's not possible, just disregard those questions.

However, my friend's friend says it is. I'm not a modder, but my friend is, and we're both interested if these things are possible. Here's a few pics of what I'm talking about.

Yes, it's possible. Transfer the mach scenarios\objects\solo\spacestation\ss_gunrack_slim\ss_gunrack_slim into whatever map you want. I'm not sure about spawning the weapons though. You'd probably have to place them yourself. Yes, you could pick up the weapons, and the bar would lift, but only if you spawn it properly.

the only problem is if you have the weapons on there like they are in the sp level they will dissapear after a while because those weapons arent spawned by the scnr. And if you did spawn them by the scnr there is no way of attaching them to the things. If it is only for a machinima though i bet i could find a work around by using some cheap tricks.

Yes, it would probably be for machinima more than anything.

However, do you know how long it would take for the weapons to dissappear? It would probably not be too much of a problem, because we could just restart the game when we're ready to use it.

Thanks for your help so far guys. I guess we'll work on it.

Non modders wouldn't be able to see it, I hope that doesn't shoot your Idea down in flames. But they would probally be able to see the weapons depending on how you spawn them.

Of course, lol.

I actually have no solid idea where I want it. But, it would probably be Elongation, Containment, or Terminal, within one of the bases.

Well dudes... your Filming Machinima on live?

Ugh... i will give you some tips i have learnt.

1. Use XBConnect. (On live you have to have No Grenades and hold the Left Trigger to get the Spartan to drop his weapon to what i call "Relaxed State" where as on XBC all you need to do is Tap the Down button on Dpad, then you don't have to hold any buttons.
That and modding on live is bad bad bad.

2. Never use the XBL Headset for voices. (absolutely horrible) just use a PC mic and edit the voices in Post production.
A demo of how crap XBL headsets sound is Here... (this vid was filmed on live without mods) (a looooong time ago) http://www.potholestudios.com/index.php ... ails&id=15
and a clip of how Post Production PC mic editing goes is here... http://www.potholestudios.com/index.php ... ails&id=13

3. add me to MSN or something if you want help / filming tips from a fellow Machinima creator.

with the why i would spawn it the weapons wouldnt appear to nonmodders but like i said i do have a cheap work around for keeping the weapon from dissapearing. All i have to do is make the thing hold oddballs instead and just do an hlmt swap. Then you can just swap to an actuall smg/br if you need a shot of it well... being shot.

Don't worry dazzajay, we know quite a bit about machinima. We know modding over live is bad, and we don't cheat either. Moto's already been banned (from matchmaking), and he doesn't mind. We use mods purely for filming purposes.
