Sapien...making my map laggy and without color...

Post by flyinrooster »

Well, i finally got to the point where i could open my map in sapien (well, scenario). I punched in the commands "radiosity_quality 0" and "radiosity_start" well the numbers instantaneously turn to 0, without counting down (dunno if thats a problem or not). Then, when i look around, my map makes the camera VERY laggy, AND it has no color. can someone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it? thx

Well, for starters, you have to wait for the numbers to run fully. Also, you have to type in radiosity_save once it has finished, and without colour, it might be that your shaders do not have bitmaps.

P.S- run radiosity trough tool, much easier and for betas you can adjust the settings. The command is: tool.exe lightmaps levels\test\tutorial\tutorial tutorial 0 0.99999 < this number has to be a decimal.

[edit] btw, i do not have an alpha in the ground bitmap....should i? i still changed the texture to dxt3, but should i add in an alpha?

Well, usually the alpha is used for specifying what part of the bitmap gets primary and secondary detail. Look at Blood Gluch's ground texture's alpha.
