[WIP] Flood Season (inspired by pokecancer made by me)

Post by r0tten »

ok well i remade pokecancer's "zanzibar water in beaver creek in gemini" and skinned it, fixed the water so it was clear (not so shiny), added weapons, fixed teleporters (scenery), added trees (outside of level for atmosphere) and a few other treats. it was honestly one of the hardest things i have done, i want to give mad props to pokecancer for pioneering and explaining this method. i hope to make other maps with water in them soon. i just have to finish a few things with this, mostly special spawns, teleporter problems, real time lighting, problems with the sky , and SLC. i hope you all like it, i am posting this for last minute suggestions and critiquing so i would actually appreciate some critisim and input.

hope you all enjoy it when it's done but if you dont you have no one to blame but yourselves cause i am giving everyone a chance to give me some ideas for this.

also this is a pre-emptive thanks to pokecancer, monkey terd, and t1xanton who all helped out in some way.

I would remove the trees. 8) Or, at least the small alder ones.

But it looks awesome, good job.

I just love it when people come out of the closet! When i first saw flood season, i thought it was gonna be the real flood. But im glad to see its not. Good deal.

water..... i dunno, thats why i asked, i was thinking custom models but i thought i should probably keep this as real to a bungie map as possible, it's a small level so there isnt too much to change around, what would you like to see in it?

Unless Its just my experimentations with glare that Ive become obsessed with I think this mod needs glare and a new water reflection...

i gave it a new water reflection kinda but it came out kinda golden. i liked it so i kept it, it will fit when i get the sky to work correctly, whenever that is.

however i am interested in this "glare" you speak of.

Its in the sky tag the glare properties...
I still need to label them at haloplugins forums

And Doorm4n, I'd love to comment about the closet reference but I'd be banned

meh, if and when you all see it in game you'll like the water alot, i garauntee it. the only real big problem i'm having is getting the sky to work, it only wants me to use the gemini sky. i'm trying to use either the backwash or mainmenu sky then lower the fog beneath the water so it actually seems somewhat like you're underwater when you go beneath it in the bases.

WOW  this looks great! when I looked at the title I thought it had to do with the flood characters though like DoorM4n did... lol

Can't wait to see this finnished

P.S. I may be able to help you with the gemini sky...

there are 2 sky dependencies in scnr in gemini, if you swap them both, it should show the new sky

yeah i tried that and it gave me a black sky, i might have screwed something up when trying to do this.

been waiting to here a comment from you what do you think?

little update:

so i started working on custom bumps, only made 2 so far but i switched 2 also for ones already in campaign (time saver plus they looked nice) i alsoam adding active scenery rain, hopefully it looks nice when it hits the water, i dont know if its going to show the splash on the water or on the ground underneath it, it's a trial and error thing.

edit: i fixed the sky, for some reason it wont let me have a sky that has fog in it but all others work, this is getting weird...

When I saw the name i though it was gonna have to do with the actual flood but i see its not (having flood in there would be kinda cool) but the water i think looks awesome the whole active scenery rain then hitting the water sounds amazing. When this mod comes out i am definetly downloading i can already tell its going to be awesome
