Video Tutorial: How to skin a warthog and get it in-game

Post by Armoured-Fury »

Ok i previously made a read-me web based tutorial for people in regards to how to skin a warthog. I've had a lot of people messaging me and or adding me to msn asking me how to do it because a lot of the reference images and files had gone missing due to my site being moved.

So last night, after getting a messege from another user, i sat down and decided to make a video tutorial to try and clear a lot of things up.

The tutorial consists of two parts and also has all the necessary files needed in order to skin a warthog. So let's get started ok?
Here are a few pics of what the final skin should look like, yes it's only a simple skin but as i say further down, i made it quick because of file size.
(as with all the clickable links on this post look at the bottom of the displayed page for "download")

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(NOTE: you will need WinRar to open these files)

Files you will need:

HMT (Halo Mapping Tools) v3.5 (2mb)
http://www.4shared.com/file/1413719/5c536fbb/hmt.html?

The .DDS Photoshop plugin (this tutorial is for photoshop sorry) (3mb)

Net-framework v1.1 (if you have that or higher then you don't need this) (21mb)

The tutorials:

Part 1 (2mb)

Part 2 (10mb)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope this helps people and if you have any questions just ask away. If there are enough requests then i will do a more detailed tutorial explaining each part and so fourth.

The only reason this tutorial is quick was due to the fact that when i try to upload files larger than 5MB to FileLodge it times out even though i do have a 10mb broadband connection (that's like the fastest you can get in England, or so i'm told). So if i do make a more detailed tutorial i will then spread it out over about 4 sections maybe.
