It doesn't totally depend on level size, but more on the amount of faces, light-emitting materials, if it's a map with outdoor and indoor environments, etc.

I would say, just so you can see your level, do a zero-quality radiosity and then about a minute into it (or until the numbers each say 0, whichever comes first), save the radiosity.

But a map of Bungie/Gearbox quality can take hours or days, depending on how powerful your computer is, and the aforementioned elements in your map.
