Ok. To tell you the truth, I don't even have Halo on the PC. I have it on X-box, and don't really want to spend the money on the PC version. I don't have any intention of modding or anything like that. I would however, love to mess around with the meshes. I searched the first 4 pages of this forum looking for anything that migh thelp me with getting the meshes into Max5/6. All I found was 5 differant applications for 5 differant programs and 5 differant ways of doing it. Quite confusing.
Like I said, I don't have PC Halo, so I don't have any of the mesh files. I was wondering if theres any kind soul out there that would consider sending me a couple of the mesh files (any format), if they aren't too big. I don't care what format it is in, as long as I can get an application/plugin to get them into Max5/6.
Incase anyone is willing to do this for me, the meshes I am interested in are the Warthog, an Elite, Pillar of Autumn, and Master Chief. I don't require textures.
Come to think of it, I do have the Halo Trial version and I bet the meshes are included in that... I just looked in the folder, and I couldn't find any .obj files. I assume they are in a larger file that they must be extracted from? Does anyone have the name of an application which can break that file down?
Thanks for your time guys. I appretiate it.

Mesh Request - Max5/6
ok, legally no one can send u the models sorry about that, but if u have the trial, im sure u can get most of them out, what ull need to do is go to the download section of this site and download halo map tools 3, oppen up the map and go to pc models, this is where u can extract them out, they will be in obj format as it looks like u know so for max ull need to get a plugin to import obj cause max doesnt do that normally, all u have to do is google for it its called obj2max, pretty easy to find. Sory that we cant send u the models but its just illegal to do so and posting that someone will is against the site rules also. But good luck with that, if u have a good computer and enjoy halo I would suggest buying it just because its not just the same game, i play both versions and play different ways, like on xbox all i play is slayer and teamslayer but on pc all i play is ctf so its different but i enjoy both alot so if i were u thats what i would do.
Thanks for the reply
Since my last post, I downloaded the application and exported the stuff to .objs. I'm looking for the plugin now.
Sorry about that, I didn't realize that sending the meshes was illegal. But now that I think about it, that makes since. Thanks for your help Beastman!

well considering that the game is copywrited and u can't make any illegal copies of the game. So naturally the same rules would apply for the files of the game...if that was legal people could make that same excuse for burning the disk with a burner...3DArtist wrote:Thanks for the replySince my last post, I downloaded the application and exported the stuff to .objs. it is legal to burn the game to a disk ONCE, same people who made some dvd ripping and burning program (forget name) is coming out with one for programs of all types and it is legal to burn any computer software (that includes games) once for a personal back up but of course people will be doin illegal stuff with it. With it u can burn xbox, gamecube, and ps2 games as well as pc and still be able to play them apparently
