Rendering Bitmaps *solved*

Post by diode_1 »

I really want to be able to make my own renders of Halo 2 models. I got the plugin for ADI ( http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=22742 ) and I'm able to extract the obj models. I've opened them in several 3D modellers and they look fine. I'm also able to extract the DDS bitmaps with Dothalo and they open just fine too in Adobe Photoshop CS 2. My only problem is I really dont know how to put the bitmaps on the model. I'm sorry if this is a noob question but I've been looking for quite awhile now... I have Adobe Photoshop CS 2 and 3DS Max 6. I also have some other lesser known apps.

Please help me. Thanks.

First open the DDS images in PS, and resave them as a .bmp
Then open 3ds, import (file > import) your models
Press the M key (This brings up the material editor)
Click the small grey square next to the "Diffuse" slot
Select Bitmap in the window that pops up, find your image
