Okay, so I decided to start modding the downloaded maps after I saw my friend do a bunch of cool $#!+ on Turf. (over Live, mind you; he moved the scarab around, made the plasma pistol shoot some long, wavy green beam, etc) Now, I already had knowledge of changing the maps, but only by applying PPFs you'd grab off of sites.
Through DotHalo, I've gotten the warthog to fly, but anytime I try make the plasma pistol shoot a rocket, for example, by: going to the Plasma Pistol's dependencies and lone IDs, changing the first projectile ("plasma_pistol_bolt") to "objects\weapons\support_high\rocket_launcher\projectiles\rocket", saving the changes, fixing the encryption, and then uploading it to H2, gives me a "failed to load map" error.
I've read somewhere that it's the AU that broke this, but I've seen my friend run mods in custom games, so I know it can be done.
What am I doing wrong here?
Edit: And I have no intent of modding in matchmaking, plus I'd be banned if I tried to. I just want to get the point where my friend's at and start screwing around with maps in custom games.

And before you repost saying it's for custom, listen. Modding is modding. Xbl is xbl. Modding on xbl is modding on xbl. This may seem elementary but it's the truth.
