possible way to make a shiny mc with bad gfx cards (HALO PC)

Post by Choking Victim »

this is for halo pc: ok my graphics card sucks and mc is white and not shiny. but i was playing on the first level (the pillar of autumn) and i noticed that the glass on the cryo tubes had light reflecting off of it making it look shiny and if i moved the reflection moved too like a real time reflection would. heres a pic: http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=8/23914574539.jpg&s=x2 so i was wondering if it was possible to take that reflection and apply it to mc so that if i made a green skin for him he would shine like that so is it possible? if so how would i do it?

The cryo glass is just specularity of the lights bouncing off. (Correct?)

It's not possible to have an actual shader that is cubemapped around an object on a bad graphics card.
