Custom Edition won't run

I have Halo CE installed but when I try to open it, it shows the halo logo
and then immediately closes down. Is there an update or patch I might be
missing?

If anyone knows how to fix this, your help would be appreciated.

I have Halo pc 1.06, and yes I have tried reinstalling Custom Edition.

hmm.. so you just open it and shows a little box with the halo logo and never loads up?
or does it take you to a fullscreen thingy and never loads up

i have the same problem. If you have an Nvidia graphics card that will be it. Microsoft.com used to have the strings.dll to make it work but for some reason they took it off.

Yeah, I have an Nvidia 5700. I thought I had the String.dll downloaded. I will check.
