Getting updates off a modded xbox to a regular xbox.

I have a modded xbox with both map packs and 1.1 update, that I want to get on a unmodded xbox. I thought I heard someone say that you can swap the HD and do it. I have swapped the HDs of these two before but never did anything but power them up.

Can anyone explain to me how to be able to FTP to the unmodded xbox boxes HD. And where to put the map pack and 1.1 update files on its HD?
