I need a more specific explination on how to extract and/or view my halo map files from my X box.

right well once you've got the map to your computer you need to first download the .NET framework from microsoft, a hex utilitie and one or more of the following programs:
chr2
Dot Halo
H2X
ADI
etc.
Basically open the .map file in one of these programs and use the tutorials availiable to edit the file as you see fit once done resign the map (in Dot Halo this is Fix Encryption / And ADI i think is Check Sum Recalculator)
send back over to your xbox
done!

I need to know how to get my map files to my computer and I was trying to connect it to x box and it said NO IP ADRESS FOUND

you have got a modded xbox right! if not goto
http://www.xbox-scene.com
if so you need to makesure you enable networkingon your xbox and set up the ip, subnet mask etc.
