Verticies and Indicies

Post by Ted Dibiase »

Is there a way to edit indicies and verticies? Does changing idicies and verticies involve remodling a weapon. Is there no way to take a weapon obj file and change the model to look like another that of another weapon model with ease.

Let's say I export the carbine fp obj file from another modded map.

Then I export the fp obj of the fuel rod from another map.

Now I want to edit the fuel rod obj file so the fuel rod will look like the carbine. Is there a way to do this with ease now that I have the carbine obj file. I don't really want to go through all that skinning and remoddeling stuff if I can just use the carbine obj file to make the fuel rod look like the carbine.

I guess I'm not making any sense.

To explain it simplier, I want the the fuel rod to look like the carbine. And I wish to do that without spending hours remoddeling and skinning. I have the carbine obj file. Doesn't that count for something?

Maybe someone can think of something quicker but the best I can think of is... Open the carbine and open the fuel rod get the xyz cordinates of the carbine verts and use the move function in milkshape to move the fuel rod verts to the cordinates.

Only way is to remodel, Using Milkshape is popular or 3ds Max.... When you import the number of vertices and indices has to be EXACTLY the same with old and few model.
Your image cannot exceed 400x200 or 50kb

Is there a way to have the software remodel for you by just using another file like the obj file of the carbine. Wouldn't having a file of the weapon you want help in any way?
