Dedicated Server Help

Post by Ripps »

Hey...

I've just built a home server computer and I'm trying to get a HaloCE dedicated server running and it wont appear in the gamespy master list.

I've edited the init.txt file to look like this

Code: Select all

sv_name ![Ripps|CTF Server]
sv_rcon_password *****
SV_Public True
SV_maxplayers 6
SV_Mapcycle_timeout 5
sv_mapcycle_add room_final ctf
sv_mapcycle_add frost ctf
sv_mapcycle_add towergulchxl ctf
sv_mapcycle_add New_Mombasa_Classic ctf
sv_mapcycle_add concealed ctf
sv_mapcycle_add gate ctf
sv_mapcycle_add pipedream ctf
sv_mapcycle_add cliffhanger ctf
sv_mapcycle_begin
can anybody help me?

You have to open port 2302 to get it to work.
May the lag be with you. Always.

you should probably open up 2303, 2304, and 2305 just for good measure. Different people fancy different ports.

That simply depends on what port you want to run it. You can define the port in the shortcut properties e.g: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Server\haloded.exe" -port 1080

This is for the 'normal' halo ded but for the CE ded you can also use the -port switch.
