Dispraiser and I have been working on a map called Absolute Zero (tenative name), and we're looking for good texture artist and also concept artists.

Heres the background for the map:

It's 2524,a year before the Covenant destroyed Harvest, when Spartans were first meant to kill rebels. After a series of security failures, the Rebels managed to discover the location of a Spartan 3 facility, and a time the Spartan 3's would all be frozen. So, the rebels sent a strike team to the facility, disguised as a platoon of Marines. The underwater facility was overrun in a brutal battle between Marine security teams and the rebels. In the end, neither side emerged the clear victor. After hours of fighting and dozens of deaths, the facility is left in uncertain hands...

We need someone good with sapien too. Ground fog is gonna be important, as well as portalling... This map has high poly density thanks to those damnable pods, so we need some portalling work... It's a cold, foggy place, though, so it shoudl be fine. Also, the entire map will be illuminated with a blue light, rather than the normal white light. It's underwater, after all...

Thats really good, looks like it is quite high polygon, so wouldnt be that good for over 10 people i think, what is that... thing in the middle of the map, some kind of lift? Are there gonna be windows in it? cauz if there is you could put some mutant fish with a looping animation outside the window.

the thing in the middle is an elevator we were thinking it should be crashed with sparks and all kinda meyham in the middle.

ah, yes htat pic of teh chief and rines... i remember that from www.3dap.com/halo it was on the fromt page as a site banner like 2 years ago... good times, good times...crappy forums.... i was banned from there 5 times....good times...

well the map started of with too many polys so we have been working on lowering that down we are now in the beta stage

But why would the spartans be frozen? :? :roll: :wink:

and since when have they ever been underwater? :shock: In a base I mean.


P.S. that gun is teh roxxorz!! That thing is the coolest gun I've ever seen!!

IRT the underwater question...

Why not have it underwater? It was just to make it a paiin the ass to get to for the rebels.

IRT why they are frozen...

Spartan 3s, I guess, would be a little less human in their minds. Spartan 1s were human, Spartan 2s modified humans, and continui9ng that progression, Spartan 3ds could be pretty violent monsters. They are frozen when not training or fighting.

IRT the lift. Anything about the lift.

The lift is broken. The rebels used it to gain access to the facility, and as such, that's where the fighting started. Elevators aren't especially durable things...

As for Updated Wireframes. I'll post some updates later today. We now have the bases complete on either side, as well as the chasis of a custom vehicle; a single seater tank with a massive chaingun, packed with enough scifi to... DO something?
