Whenever I view a topic, it is still set as "unread" and has that little icon by it.

It's extremely annoying because I can never tell if there really is a new reply to something

any suggestions?

I had a similar problem a while back. All you have to do is clear the cache, and it should work.

I used to have that problem, but only in IE, and not FF.

I've repeatedly deleted everything related to my browser's history, and it still won't work.

Even after logging out, deleting it, logging back in, it still occurs.

I had that problem when the forum was launching. I just set it so that it doesn't remember my login and requires a password each time, and it's fine.

Ctrl+F5 will refresh and clear the current page's cache. Recache the page is the short answer.

Refreshes and redownloads everything on the page (i.e. refresh + clears cache of everything that was on that page).

My 360 died a few days ago apparently from the gpu failing. Talking to middle easterners the first thing in the morning is a great way to start your day.
