It's not a matter of your screen's brightness and contrast, it's that Photoshop has a greyish background, as opposed to the white background of HM. It's your eyes adjusting to the contrast. That's why some images look completely different on a dark or light forum.

Here's a more "blended" one. I didn't want to blend the text that much because I wanted it to look like that, but I dimmed it some.
As for the render. The shoulders going out to the sides are blended pretty well from my perspective. His head isn't blended as much as the shoulders because it's the main focal point.

That goes against the entire premise of all of my signatures. In addition, that wouldn't even make sense. 
Yours is good. I dislike the choice of Wide Awake as being the font, however. It doesn't speak too much for a "modding team" (Or whatever you call yourselves) to be mimicking the logo of another entity. =/
