It's called letterbox. He put screen captures on his PSP, then viewed them fullscreen. They're as legit looking as you can get.
Oh, and fix your sig. The irony of it is quite insulting towards against your intents. But if it was with your intents, then that is racist, to which you should recieve a "swift ban".
That is all.

The first image actually is taken on a PSP screen, but in the dark with no flash, and as a result, all surrounding area is pitch black.sarbjit wrote:DWells55 wrote:No, those close ups are of a PSP screen.Caboose{SE} wrote:they did a pretty cool job with that psp almost looks real except the close u shots are pictures taken from a tv x_x

I'm not trying to pass these off as real. It's just a joke if you read my original post.
Regarding the screenshots, all I had to do was find some pictures of the cutscenes online. Now, Halo 2 does the cutscenes letterboxed, so all I had to do was crop the black bars off, giving me a perfect 16:9 image. Then for the in-game shots, I took pictures of my Widescreen HDTV running Halo 2 with my camera, cropped the unnecessary stuff, and resized them to 480x272 (the PSP's native resolution). Then, I transferred them to the PSP via USB, and displayed them. THe box art was done in photoshop with a variety of source images and editing. The hardest task was cropping each individual letter out of the Halo 2 title and having it look right, then realigning them onto the cover art the right distance apart. Here you can see my two final results for the cover art:
